The Lancaster County Virginia Education Foundation (LCVEF) recently recognized outstanding students and educators from Lancaster High School during its annual Celebration of Excellence banquet at Meridian Restaurant.
Now in its 18th year, the event honors both academic achievement and personal character, reported board member Holly Braly. Students recognized include those with the highest grade point averages as well as individuals nominated by teachers for their effort, leadership and integrity.
In turn, students nominate teachers who have made a lasting impact on their educational experience, said Braly.
Speaker Kimberly Crockett, a Lancaster High School alumna and former LCVEF board president, has spent 11 years as a teacher and coach. She highlighted the importance of education, mentorship and perseverance.
