
REEDVILLE—Edith Wright Clowers, 88, died on June 19, 2026, at her home in Reedville.
Edie was born October 6, 1937, the daughter of John H. and Laura D. Wright of Curwensville, Pa. She was a 1955 graduate of Curwensville High School and attended Cazenovia College in New York.
Edie was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mimi (Wright) Maggard of Annapolis, Md.; her husband, Bobby Clowers; and two of her three children, Laura Clowers and Cliff Clowers. Edie also recently lost her loving partner of 12 years, John I. Miles, on April 6 of this year.
Her surviving daughter is Susan Clowers Trezenka (Bill), who currently reside in Reedville. Edie’s surviving brother is John M. Wright of Curwensville.
Edie has six grandchildren, Michelle Pike, Brooke Pike, Kirsten Pike, Christine Pike, Sydney Clowers Sousa and Ashley Clowers Habeeb.
Edie was well known for her sense of humor and fun-loving presence. A practical joker, she had many friends that fell prey to her antics. Along with her grandchildren, she loved her pets, more than a few neighborhood dogs ended up at her home full-time and enjoyed a great life. Edie was initially a member of the Curwensville United Methodist Church and most recently a member of the Afton Methodist Church and choir in Ophelia. Edie had also been active in a local Reedville area charity called Interfaith that secured used items to give to needy people.
A celebration of life will be held by her neighborhood and friends in Reedville. Internment and graveside service will be held at Oakhill Cemetery in Curwensville at a future date.
