Lines form at the farmers market
Heat didn’t keep hundreds of visitors from enjoying the Irvington Farmers Market on Saturday, July 4. The market, however, did close about an hour earlier than normal and the town’s afternoon events including music and the annual parade were canceled out of safety concerns. Temperatures soared to 100 degrees with a heat index over 110 degrees in the Northern Neck on Independence Day, putting a damper on most of the 250th celebrations.
