The Bethel–Emmanuel Charge recently welcomed Rev. Betty Jo Sims as its new pastor.
Rev. Sims was born in Radford and grew up in Statesville, N.C. She brings a blend of academic, professional and ministry experience to the congregations, reported Sandy Clark of Bethel United Methodist Church.
She has degrees and certifications in mathematics, art, nonprofit management and divinity studies, with educational experiences at East Carolina University, Virginia Commonwealth University, Virginia Tech, and Duke University.
