FOREST—Richard Meredith Pruett Sr., 81, of Forest passed away July 29, 2026. He was the husband of Rosie Pitman Pruett.
He is survived by his wife, Rosie; daughter, Kim McManamey (Ian); son, Richard M. “Rich” Pruett Jr.; and four grandchildren, Ethan, Emily, Meredith and Oliver. Also surviving Richard are many nieces and nephews from whom he received much joy!
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, James Carroll Pruett and Dorothy Brice Pruett; and his sister, Carolee Cornwell.
Richard worked at Northern Neck Office Equipment for 50 years. He is a long-standing member of the Kilmarnock Rescue Squad and he worked faithfully with the Special Olympics and Friends of the Puller Center. He also served in many faithful ways at Morattico Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, August 2, at Morattico Baptist Church in Kilmarnock. The family received friends one hour prior to the service.
