Northumberland Public Library (NPL), 7204 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville, recently announced its August events calendar.
Special events will include a Tampa Taiko Drum event at 10 a.m. Friday, August 7, at the Northumberland Family YMCA, 6348 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville.
Sensei Ron Collins will return with a taiko drum performance. Learn about Japanese culture and get a chance to play the drums, reported director Jane Blue. All ages welcome.
Community outreach supervisor Arthur Newman will host Escape from the Museum from noon-7 p.m. Friday, August 7, for all ages.
“While visiting NPL Museum of Natural History, the museum goes into lockdown mode. You are trapped inside with other visitors. The museum personnel, guards and other members of security are missing. You and your group are tasked with finding a way out before you become a museum relic,” said Blue.
