Benefit concert supports fire department

The Band From Misfit Beach played a benefit concert Sunday, August 23, on the “patio” at That Damn Mary (TDM) Brewing Company in Kilmarnock. Donations from the community, TDM, Domino’s Pizza and a private donor totaled some $4,000 for the Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department. “The fire department thanks The Band From Misfit Beach, That Damn Mary and also the community for all their support,” said president Ray Lewis. The heat didn’t faze dancers groovin’ to music from 70s, 80s and 90s. The band has raised approximately $54,000 this year. The next concert will be held September 13 at Sandy Bottom in Deltaville, benefiting the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation.
