LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Circuit Court convened Friday, September 4, with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
In the case of George R. Holmes III of Fredericksburg, charged with a felony for violating probation, a status hearing was scheduled for October 23.
In the case of Joshua R. Ashburn of Weems, appealing a General District Court bond decision, bond was denied.
In the case of Joshua D. Owens of Reedville, charged with a felony for malicious wounding in a mob, a jury trial was scheduled for November 23 and 24.
Megan N. Feldmann of Burgess pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor for shoplifting/altering merchandise. She was sentenced to 180 days, 160 of which were suspended with 12 months of probation to begin upon sentencing. Feldmann also was ordered to pay $221 in court costs.
In the case of Kendall C. Anderson of White Stone, charged with a felony for violating probation, a show cause hearing was continued by defense motion to October 23.
Shawn E. Jones of Kilmarnock pleaded guilty to a felony for selling/providing a Schedule I/II substance and an amended charge of misdemeanor assault and battery. Sentencing is scheduled for November 20.
Jones also was charged with additional felonies for selling/providing a Schedule I/II substance which was nolle prossed and a revocation of pretrial release, which was dismissed.
In the case of Jerel L. Newton of Saluda, charged with felonies for selling/giving cocaine, violating probation and being a violent felon in possession of a weapon, a trial was continued to November 13.
Brent P. Snyder of Urbanna pleaded guilty to two felonies for violating probation. He was sentenced to eight years with seven years and six months suspended and two years probation on the first charge and a 26-year suspended sentence with two years of probation on the second charge.
Kionthe R. Walters of Heathsville pleaded guilty to three felonies and one misdemeanor for violating probation. He was sentenced to five years with four years and nine months suspended with 12 months of probation upon release on the first charge and a total of 15 years and five months, all suspended on the remaining charges. He also was ordered to pay a total of $400 in court costs.
In the case of Jesse L. Carroll of Staunton, charged with four felonies for selling/giving a Schedule I/II substance and one felony for selling drugs on or near a school or library, a jury trial was scheduled for September 21.
In the case of Blake R. Taylor-Rice of White Stone, charged with a felony for violating probation, a status hearing was continued by defense motion to October 23.
In the case of Brandon D. Wade of Burgess, appealing General District Court misdemeanor convictions for driving while under the influence, first offense, driving with an open container of alcohol, and speeding 20-plus mph over the speed limit, a trial was scheduled for February 25.
In the case of Mary B. O’Donnell of Great Falls, appealing a General District Court misdemeanor conviction of reckless driving, 20 mph or more above the speed limit, a trial was scheduled for October 23.
In the case of Robert W. Ronquest of White Stone, charged with a misdemeanor for stalking with fear of death or assault, a trial was continued to September 18.
August 28 proceedings
The Lancaster County Circuit Court also convened Friday, August 28, with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
William F. Rosalia of White Stone pleaded no contest to four felonies for selling/providing a Schedule I/II substance. He was sentenced to 10 years with eight years and 10 months suspended on the first felony charge and given 10-year suspended sentences for the remaining three felony charges. He also was given 10 years of probation and ordered to pay $2,318 in court costs. Rosalia had two additional charges of selling/providing a Schedule I/II substance that were nolle prossed.
Rosalia pleaded no contest to misdemeanors for stalking with fear of death or assault and obstructing or resisting arrest. He was given 12-month suspended sentences for each charge with 10 years of probation and ordered to pay $377 in court costs.
