HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland County Circuit Court convened Tuesday, September 8, with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
In the case of Bradford W. Clayton on Callao, charged with providing false statements on criminal history consent forms, a review was set for October 27.
In a further disposition hearing for Richard G. Gallagher Jr. of Reedville, who pleaded guilty to possession of Schedule I/II drugs, Gallagher was sentenced to five years with three years suspended. He faces costs of $1200 and is responsible for $800 in restitution. He will serve five years of supervised probation.
In the case of Russell E. Gordon Jr. of Callao, charged with carnal knowledge of a 13/14 year old, without force, a trial was set for November 5.
In the case of Crystal F. Kappel of Heathsville, charged with two counts of felony construction fraud by advanced pay of more than $1000, a trial was set for November 19. Kappel also faces a misdemeanor charge of unlawful acts per business regulations.
In the case of Michael S. Kappel of Heathsville, charged with three counts of construction fraud by advanced pay of more than $1000, two counts of unlawful acts per business regulations, his third or more offense within 36 months, and obtaining money totaling more than $1000 under false pretenses, a trial was set for November 19. Kappel also faces a misdemeanor charge of unlawful acts per business regulations.
In the case of Rudolph P. Kenner of Wicomico Church, charged with four counts of distributing/selling Schedule I/II drugs for profit, a status hearing was set for October 27.
In the case of Deonta D. Merrill of Callao, charged with distributing/selling Schedule I/II drugs for profit, the case was continued to October 27.
In the case of Jalynn D. Santos of Warsaw, charged with two counts of carnal knowledge of a 13/14 year old, without force, a mental examination is pending and a hearing was set for November 17.
Christopher N. Scanlan of Hague pleaded nolo contendere to possession of Schedule I/II drugs. A deferred disposition was set for September 14, 2027.
In the case of Derrick D. Smith of Heathsville, charged with three counts of distributing/selling Schedule I/II drugs for profit and two counts of selling drugs near a school or library, a status hearing was set for October 27.
In the case of James L. Thompson of Callao, charged with two counts of distributing/selling Schedule I/II drugs for profit and possession of Schedule I/II drugs, a trial was set for November 10.
In the case of Veronica L. Tityk of Fayetteville, NC, charged with grand larceny of more than $1000, not personal property, a trial was set for December 8.
