Virginia Symphony Orchestra to inaugurate new performing arts stage September 26 at LHS

When the Virginia Symphony Orchestra (VSO) takes the stage at the new Lancaster High School (LHS) Auditorium & Performing Arts Center on Saturday, September 26, one thing will remain unchanged: the commitment of the community to change lives through the performing arts. Everything else will be dramatically new.

VSO will open the 2026-27 Rappahannock FoundationFor the Arts (RFA) On Stage series at LHS, 100 Visionary Way, Irvington. Doors will open at 6 p.m. A pre-show conversation will begin 6:30 p.m. with conductor Eric Jacobsen, who will share program insights, the composers and what to listen for during the performance, said RFA publicity coordinator Peter Porteous.

The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m., opening with the vivid narrative of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, followed by Debussy’s dreamy….
