LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Circuit Court convened Friday, September 18, with the Hon. Jan Brodie presiding.
Jesse L. Carroll of Staunton pleaded guilty to a felony for selling/giving a Schedule I/II substance and was sentenced to 10 years, six of which were suspended, with 10 years of probation upon release. He also was ordered to pay $560 in court costs. Carroll also was charged with three counts of selling/giving a Schedule I/II substance and one of selling drugs near a school or library. Those charges were nolle prossed as part of the agreement.
In the case of Jonaisa M. Ball of Kilmarnock, charged with a felony for violating probation, a show cause hearing was continued by defense motion to October 16.
In the case of Ana C. Carrillo of Dutton, charged with a felony for violating probation, a show cause hearing was continued and a capias issued.
In the case of Bailey M. Gough of Reedville, charged with a felony for child abuse, disregard for life, a trial was scheduled for December 4.
In the case of Wendy D. Smith of White Stone, appealing a General District Court misdemeanor conviction for refusing a breathalyzer, subsequent within 10 years, a status hearing was continued to September 25.
In the case of Wayne S. Clodfelter of Midlothian, appealing a General District Court misdemeanor conviction for camping in a state park outside of the rules, the charge was dismissed.
In the case of Michael J. Florino of Lancaster, appealing General District Court convictions for public urination, possessing a registration/license not entitled to use, and operating a vehicle without insurance, a trial was scheduled for October 9.
In the case of Germain Lazo-Martinez of Manassas, appealing a General District Court misdemeanor conviction for hunting/fishing without a license, the charge was dismissed.
In the case of Phillip W.T. Cundiff of White Stone, appealing a General District Court misdemeanor conviction for driving on a suspended license, Cundiff failed to appear.
In the case of Robert W. Ronquest of Gloucester, charged with a misdemeanor for stalking with fear of death/assault, the charge was dismissed.
Stephen L. Russell of Hanover pleaded guilty to a felony for grand larceny. Sentencing is scheduled for December 4.
