Golf tournament raises $57,600 for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation

The Special Operations Warrior Foundation’s seventh annual Chesapeake Bay Golf Tournament was held September 27 at the King Carter Golf Course, Irvington. Twenty foursomes participated in the event from around the country, some as far as Colorado.

Opening ceremonies began with the presentation of a large American Flag to King Carter Golf Course, donated by the Cobbs Hall Chapter NSDAR in honor of The Special Operations Warrior Foundation, reported committee member Susan Woodard.

The Lancaster High School JROTC presented the Colors, Dr. Cheryl Brown Davis sang the national anthem and Don Serio flew his World War II P-17 over the ceremony. The committee thanked member Tom Davis for providing all the audio for the event, said Woodard.
