The community is invited to Historic Christ Church & Museum’s annual The Holly & The Ivy at 3:30 p.m. December 4 at Christ Church, 420 Christ Church Road, Weems.
The popular event welcomes back The Chesapeake Chorale and the Christchurch School Cantorion for a program of traditional carols, reported publicity chairman Marilyn Hedges. Adding to the merriment, the audience will be encouraged to lift their voices in song to bring in the Christmas season.
The Holly & The Ivy began in 2002 as a carol sing for volunteers. In 2007, the program was expanded to include both the community and instrumental and choral groups, said Hedges. The outstanding acoustics of the church showcase the beautiful sounds of the performers and the audience.
