Earl R. Thomas Jr.

HEATHSVILLE—Earl Ray Thomas Jr., born October 19, 1937, passed away December 7, 2017.

A 40-year employee of Callao Feed Service and a lifelong farmer, Ray was predeceased by his parents, Earl Sr. and Minnie Conley Thomas; and two sisters, Mary Lee Thomas Barrack and Rubinette Thomas Watts.

Ray is survived by his wife of 24 years, Emily D. Thomas; and her children, Kelly Antonio (Mike ) and Chip Walker; as well as five grandchildren, Walker, Ben, and Sam Antonio and Thornton and Emmi Walker. He is also survived by a sister Louise Thomas West; brother-in-law, James R. Watts; and nieces and nephews.

Ray will be remembered for his love of Hopewell United Methodist Church, where he was a life member and a trustee, and for his civic involvement and support of the community through the Callao Ruritan Club and Young Farmers of the Northern Neck. He was also a previous board member for Northumberland-Lancaster Farm Bureau.

Ray loved well, and was well loved. May he find eternal peace.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 15, at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Interment will follow the service at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
