Short a quorum, White Stone council meeting is all talk and no action

WHITE STONE—The White Stone Town Council’s snow-delayed meeting didn’t actually happen again this week.

Mayor Randy Reeves called the meeting to order last Thursday without a quorum or town manager Patrick Frere and town attorney Matson Terry. The rescheduled meeting caused a conflict for many of the members, including Frere and Terry.

Although no action was taken or allowed, mayor Reeves, Irving Brittingham, Drew Hubbard and Ran Reeves moved through the agenda items. William Hubbard, Blair Kenyon, Kelli Sullivan and Paul Elbourn were absent.

Action on a Northern Neck Regional Hazardous Mitigation Plan, along with updates on the housing and downtown grants, was put on hold, along with reorganization of the town’s committees. However, mayor Reeves told council members the target date of February 28 to have easement contracts completed for the public sewer project is still in place. In fact, Reeves delivered some good news…
