LYNCHBURG—Kathryn Barton Akers, 71, of Lynchburg died on September 19, 2018. She was a graduate of Lancaster High School.
Surviving are her son, George D. Akers III (Cathy) of James Store; brother, Earl Barton and wife, Jo Ann Barton of Lancaster; two sisters, Joan Barton and husband, Warren Chapman of Chesterfield, and Barbara Gifford and husband, David of Lynchburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 23, at Farnham Baptist Church Cemetery, Farnham, with Rev. David Comer officiating.
Currie Funeral Home LLC of Kilmarnock handled the arrangements.
