Charles E. “Chuck” Conley

KILMARNOCK—Charles Edward “Chuck” Conley, formerly of Richmond, died of heart failure on October 23, 2018, at the home of his brother George Allen Conley and sister-in-law, Gloria.

Chuck was born on October 4, 1949, in Washington, D.C., to Charles Luttrell Conley and Joan Harriett Dunmoyer Conley. He graduated from Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington in 1967 and began his education and training as a steamfitter. He was a member of Steamfitters Local 602 until his retirement.

Chuck loved NASCAR racing and country music and enjoyed traveling to Branson, Mo., for country music shows. He also enjoyed road trips across the U.S.

Chuck was generous to a fault, always ready to help family and friends whenever he could.

Chuck is survived by his beloved mother, Joan Harriett Conley; his brother, George Allen Conley (Gloria); his sister, Joan Ann Canose; and his sister, Nancy Jean Scott (Tom) as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his father, Charles Luttrell Conley, in January 1985 and his great-niece, Victoria Chandler, in November 2013.

Family and friends were received from noon -1 p.m. Monday, October 29, at Currie Funeral Home, 116 East Church Street, Kilmarnock, and funeral services immediately followed. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Kilmarnock.
