Local ballots have yet to be filled

Several elected offices in Lancaster and Northumberland counties will be on the November 5 ballot. Residents interested in running for office now have less than two months to file the necessary paperwork.

In both counties, the Constitutional offices of Commonwealth’s Attorney, Commissioner of the Revenue, Treasurer and Sheriff will appear on the ballot. Voters in both counties also will elect supervisors and school board members to represent three districts in each county, and two directors each to serve on the Northern Neck Soil and Water Conservation District (NNSWCD).

In Northumberland, Commissioner of the Revenue Todd Thomas has filed with the voter registrar’s office to have his name on the ballot. Major Johnny Beauchamp, who has worked for the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office for 18 years and has served as chief deputy since 2016, has filed for sheriff…
