Skeletal remains found on the Rappahannock River shoreline near Windmill Point Monday have been identified as missing boater Leroy Bussells, 68, of Woodbridge and Reedville, according to Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie.
Bussells was reported missing December 23, 2018, when he failed to return from a fishing trip. The US Coast Guard found Bussells’ 27-foot Grady White December 25 unoccupied on Bloodsworth Island in Maryland. The fishing gear was still deployed.
According to McCranie, Bussells was from Kilmarnock and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1968.
