Northern Neck Explorers campers head ‘Back in Time’

While Americans celebrated Independence Day, Chesapeake Academy’s Northern Neck Explorers campers celebrated American history all week long with adventures to important historical sites throughout the Northern Neck. “There is nowhere with more opportunity to dig into our nation’s rich history than the Northern Neck of Virginia,” said camp director Ian York. “And our local landmarks do such a good job of bringing history alive with hands-on learning and exploration.”

Campers learned about Virginia’s Lee family at Stratford Hall, touched on the Colonial world of Robert King Carter at Historic Christ Church & Museum, and made broad connections with a signer of the Declaration of Independence…
