Dug In Farms to open with a new look

How does a city girl with a marketing background but no real farming experience other than a passion for growing fresh food realize her dream of becoming a farmer and selling directly to locals and visitors?

“It’s wasn’t easy,” said Dug in Farms owner Carolyn Quinn. “In 2015, I reached out to friends and neighbors in the Northern Neck for help and guidance, and my community responded by helping me seed, plant and harvest my crops.”

Quinn’s journey began after moving to the Northern Neck and tending a small garden in her free time on the eight-acre farm she purchased off Fleets Bay Road near Kilmarnock. When the idea formed to move from weekend gardener to full-time farmer, Quinn knew it…
