Sheriffs’ Report 04-16-20

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week indicated there were no arrests to report.

Activity report

April 6: Staff responded to the 3200 block of Crawfords Corner Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 200 block of Pinckardsville Road for a domestic assault, to the 400 block of Benson Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 700 block of Rappahannock Drive for a suspicious person, to the intersection of Mary Ball and Devils Bottom roads for a truck blocking the roadway, to the 8400 block of Jesse duPont Memorial Highway for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 1600 block of Windmill Point Road for numerous gunshots, to the 3200 block of Crawfords Corner Road for a trespasser, and to Millenbeck and River roads for a vehicle stopped in the roadway.

April 7: Staff responded to the 1300 block of Buzzards Neck Road for trespassers on dirt bikes, to the 4700 block of Mary Ball Road for a large tree down in the roadway, and to the 8600 block of Mary Ball Road for a verbal disagreement.

April 8: Staff responded to the 1600 block of Windmill Point Road for a possible juvenile sexual assault.

April 9: Staff responded to Rivers Landing Drive for vandalism of a camper, to the 1800 block of White Chapel Road for violation of the COVID-19 order, to the 100 block of Turner Lane for illegally parked vehicles, to the 100 block of Bob White Lane for a verbal disagreement, to the 200 block of Wray Davis Lane for burglary and theft from a residence, to the 100 block of Bob White Lane for a fight in progress, to the 300 block of Windmill Point Road for a possible burglary of a residence, and to the 200 block of Majors Cove Road for a suspicious vehicle.

April 10: Staff responded to the 100 block of Wiggins Avenue for a domestic disturbance, to the 18700 block of Mary Ball Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the roadway.

April 11: Staff responded to White Hall and Paynes Creek roads for gunshots in the area, to the 200 block of Old Fairgrounds Way to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department with a trespasser, to Christ Church and Lumberlost roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 200 block of Windmill Point Road to investigate a sudden death, and to the 100 block of Golf Course Drive for shooting in the area.

April 12: Staff responded to the 100 block of Harris Road for a trespasser, to the 600 block of Cedar Pointe Drive for a missing dementia patient, and to the 2700 block of Morattico Road for gunshots.

Staff also conducted three traffic stops, assisted two motorists, investigated three building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged an inmate transport, received 11 E911 hang-up calls, and handled two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to a tree on power lines on Mary Ball Road, a carbon monoxide alarm on Senora Road, and brush fires on Alfonso Road and First Street.

The White Stone VFD responded to a traffic crash at Lumberlost and Christ Church roads.

EMS calls

For April 5-11, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 15 calls, including eight medical emergencies, an injury, a traffic accident, a fire and four other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against six individuals.

Felony

Brandi Nicole McGehee, 30, of Callao was charged April 8 with three counts of felony bad checks written to Callao Supermarket. She also was charged on a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County General Court for failing to appear.

Misdemeanors

A Callao man, 57, was charged April 2 on six summonses for failing to vaccinate his animals. He also was charged on six summonses for failing to obtain tags for his animals.

A Callao man, 37, was charged April 3 with violating a protective order.

A Callao woman, 62, was charged April 4 with giving a false report to law enforcement.

A Kinsale man, 50, was charged April 7 on a capias/attachment of the body issued from the Northumberland County General District Court for failing to appear and report counsel. The original charge was grand larceny.

A Lottsburg man, 33, was charged April 11 with driving under the influence, second offense in five years.
