Community raises concerns about COVID-19 patients treated at Bon Secours RGH

KILMARNOCK—Despite low numbers of COVID-19 cases reported in Lancaster and Northumberland counties, rumors have been circulating about a number of patients being treated at Bon Secours Rappahannock General Hospital. The rumors raised concerns that patients are being transported from elsewhere, creating a potential for spread and a shortage of hospital beds for area residents should the need arise.

In response to those questions as well as inquiries about the level of care these patients, if there are any, are receiving locally, the risk of spread, and the extent of staff training to reduce the risk of transmission, Jenna Green, public relations and communications specialist with Bon Secours, released the following statement…
