Agriculture officials warn Virginia residents to take note of suspicious, unsolicited packages of seeds that have been mailed to U.S. households from international origins in recent weeks, according to the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation (VFBF).
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is working closely with the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, other federal agencies and state departments of agriculture to investigate the mailings.
