The Tidewater Foundation, sponsor of the annual Holly Ball, recently announced the 125th Holly Ball—previously scheduled for December 28—will not be held because of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is the first time since World War II the event has been canceled.
While it had been hoped the COVID-19 pandemic would have abated by the end of the year, it is clear that health regulations will not permit the Holly Ball this year, said foundation president Ammon G. Dunton Jr.
