WHITE STONE—Council members picked apart sentence-by-sentence a proposed noise ordinance during a work session Thursday, October 8.
Prompted to review its current ordinance by resident complaints, council was told in September by town attorney Matson Terry the current policy was unenforceable and lacked “bright-line definitions.” Terry on October 1 presented a draft of a new ordinance. The proposed ordinance is modeled after one in Blacksburg, which Terry says has more specific terminology.
Council took the eight-page ordinance line-by-line to add and eliminate verbiage to make it more adaptable to rural White Stone.
