KILMARNOCK—Mary Carney Ausley-Welch, 97, of Kilmarnock died December 2, 2020.
She was predeceased by her parents, Wharton B. and Blanche T. Carney of Kilmarnock; and by her first husband, Witt G. Ausley; and her second husband, Clarence Welch.
Surviving is her daughter, Bonnie A. Aycock of Kilmarnock; a granddaughter, Stephanie A. Whaley; and grandson, Jackson Hunter Whaley of Newport News; and a granddaughter, Emily Ann Whaley of Gloucester. She is also survived by a sister, Donna C. Dull of Kilmarnock.
After graduation from Lively High School, she and her late husband, Witt G. Ausley, operated a restaurant for many years known as “Witt’s Restaurant and Motel” in Lively, until their retirement.
She was a lifetime member of and has been actively involved in the “Shoe Box Ministry” in Kilmarnock Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Kilmarnock.
Services are being handled by Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock, with a private graveside service at Kilmarnock Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
