DWR to transition to full electronic and telephone checking next season

The Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) recently announced plans to fully transition big game checking to electronic and telephone checking as of September 1, 2021.

All hunters—including those who are not required to purchase a license—who harvest a deer, turkey, bear, bobcat, or elk, will need to check their harvest by calling DWR (866-408-4263), logging on to gooutdoorsvirginia.com, or by using the free mobile app harvest reporting system, GoOutdoorsVa.
