Sharing a birthday: Boys hold toy drive

December birthdays mean twice the presents.

Lots of kids relish the idea that within a few days or so they’ll get showered with gifts for their birthday and Christmas. Instead, Mason Shelton and Oliver Wolfe did a selfless deed this holiday season and held a toy drive at their joint December 12 party.

Oliver is the son of Tiffany and Tim Wolfe of Kilmarnock and Mason is the son of Whitney and Steven Shelton of Wicomico Church. Both boys turned eight years old—Oliver on December 5 and Mason on November 28.

“Whitney and I talked about a joint birthday party—but for a joint party, as parents, we said we’d feel the need to get a gift for each boy,” said Tiffany. “And it was so close to Christmas and we knew our kids would get what they wanted or needed from us or their grandparents.”
