Four council members comment on complaint; budget work wanes

KILMARNOCK—Tensions emerged during the Monday, May 17, town council meeting over a complaint regarding the length of committee meetings.

Under new business, councilman Emerson Gravatt addressed the complaint, made previously by another unnamed council member. Gravatt suggested that if a council member cannot attend meetings regularly and has an issue regarding time spent handling town matters, they should resign.

Council members Les Spivey and Curtis Smith agreed with Gravatt, and councilman Mike Bedell added that time spent during committee meetings is time spent wisely considering….
