Genealogy lecture will examine census records

The Lancaster Virginia Historical Society’s (LVHS) Genealogy Research Topics, Tools, and Tips Lecture Series will continue on Thursday, October 14, at the Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock.

“All About the Census” will be presented by Sharon Hodges from 1-3:30 p.m.,  in-person, or by Zoom.

Hodges will discuss how to find and use information in the U.S. federal censuses, which have been conducted every ten years since 1790.

 “Census records can provide our ancestors’ names, ages, and locations, as well as tell us about family member relationships, neighbors, housing, occupations, income, ethnicity, education, migration, and more….
