Rappahannock dominates district volleyball season and tournament

Rappahannock swept its way to the championship in last week’s Northern Neck District volleyball tournament.

The Raiders, who went unbeaten in the league as the regular season champion, beat Colonial Beach, 3-0, in a tournament semifinal Tuesday, October 26, then blanked Northumberland, 3-0, in the final Thursday, October 28.

Northumberland, ranked second in the league, earned a shot at Rappahannock in the trophy match with a 3-1 win over third place Lancaster in the other semifinal last Tuesday in Claraville.
