Northumberland school board considers 5% raise for employees

CLARAVILLE—Budget planning season is underway for Northumberland County Public Schools (NCPS) and the board aims to give all employees a 5% raise for the 2022-23 fiscal year.

Director of finance Jason Bellows reported to the board during a Tuesday, February 22, meeting that in addition to the 5% raises, contracts for finance and administrative assistants would change from 11 months to 12 months. The fiscal year 2021-22 budget totals $20,297,120.

Additionally, Bellows reported that NCPS was awarded $815,645.87 in the latest round of state Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER III) funds. The funds have been….
