SMITH ISLAND—Samuel Reed Kitching, 58, of Smith Island died May 19, 2022, at his home in St Stephens.

Born in Crisfield, Md., on February 4, 1964, he was the son of Harry and Doris Lee Kitching. He was a 1982 graduate of Crisfield High School.

He loved his family and shared a special bond with his brother, Tracy.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Kitching; father, Harry Kitching; brother, Tracy Kitching; sister-in-law, Beth Kitching; niece and nephew, Brandon and Taylor Kitching; great-niece and great-nephew Hayden and Peyton Kitching; aunts and uncles, Cecil Laird, Pam Tyler and Billy Reed Evans; cousins, Mark Kitching. Joanne Johnson, Gary Kitching, Billy John Evans, Betty Smith and Willie Parks.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Lee Kitching; sister, Ginger Lee Kitching; grandparents, Ernest and Frances Kitching, and Harry Reed and Flossie Evans; uncles, Joe Kitching and Watt Kitching; and aunt, Linda Parks.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. June 11 at Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to King & Queen Rescue Squad.
