Bethel United Methodist Church
The Bethel-Emmanuel United Methodist Men’s Group will a hold a memorial service for deceased veterans at 10 a.m. Monday, May 30, in the church cemetery adjacent to Bethel UMC, 142 Old Bethel Road, Lively.
Speakers will be Ken and Deb Beutel, who both served with the U.S. Marine Corps. The ceremony will include patriotic music, prayers, and the reading of a list of veterans buried at Bethel Cemetery.
Historic Christ Church
The Northern Neck Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America will hold its annual Memorial Day Commemoration Monday, May 30, at Historic Christ Church, 420 Christ Church Road, Weems. The ceremony will begin with patriotic music at 11 a.m. and will continue with a formal observance at 11:30 a.m.
The keynote speaker will be Commissioner Daniel M. Gade who leads the Virginia Department of Veterans Services. Honorees will be retired U.S. Army Col. William J. Wright and retired U.S. Coast Guard Yeoman First Class Stanley J. Becker.
