Speeding traffic frustrates Reedville residents

REEDVILLE—About 25 concerned Reedville residents on September 27 gathered at the Fairfields Volunteer Fire Department to voice frustrations and look for solutions to what they see as a serious and growing problem: speeding along Main Street and Fleeton Road.

“We’re trying to find common ground to get people to slow down,” organizer Rick DeViVi told a panel that included Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp, county administrator Luttrell Tadlock and supervisor Ronnie Jett.

During the hour-long discussion, residents asked for increased enforcement and a reduction in the posted speed limit where golf carts, dog walkers and cyclists are all trying to share the road with automobiles….
