Warren Sidney Perdue

LANCASTER—Warren Sidney Perdue of Lancaster passed away on January 24, at 88 years old.

Sidney, as he was referred to, was born in Portsmouth in 1934. He grew up in Richmond, completed four years in the Navy after graduation, furthered his studies at Richmond Professional Institute, spent his professional adulthood in Woodbridge, and retired to the Northern Neck in the late 1980s.

He was married to Dottie Perdue for 48 years, before her death in 2013.

Sidney is survived by his only son, George, his wife Tara, and their two children, Stone (12) and Quinnlyn (10).

Sidney was just recently diagnosed with Mesothelioma, even though medical procedures suggest the cancer had been present for years. Sidney was a career accountant and for almost the last 10 years, he had taken over the accounting duties for his church, Bethel United Methodist at 142 Old Bethel Road in Lively.

A short memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, March 18, at Bethel United Methodist. There will be a very brief interment ceremony immediately following the memorial service and a reception at the Bethel fellowship hall immediately following the interment. Food will be provided. We will remember Sidney and appreciate the 88 years he spent on this earth.
