Celebrating its 42nd anniversary March 18-19, the Rappahannock River Waterfowl Show is an art experience dedicated to wildfowl art in its many forms. Original paintings, decorative carvings, gunning style decoys, folk art style carvings, prints, photography, and bronze sculptures are the many forms with songbirds, shorebirds, birds of prey, ducks and geese the subjects.
The weekend door prize is an original carving by Vernon Bryant of Perryville, Md., reported coordinator Pat Bruce.
This is Bryant’s 11th year exhibiting at this show. He has been carving decoys and embodying the hunting and waterman lifestyle for over half a century. Bryant was raised on Maryland’s upper Chesapeake Bay in a small town with a large reputation for having a world-class gunning club, hosting presidents, governors and members of Congress on a regular basis.
