Candace Slaw named girls basketball player of the year in Region 1A

After claiming both the Northern Neck and Region 1A championships, the Rappahannock High School girls basketball team claimed one of the region’s top honors and captured three spots on the all-region team. 

Buffalo Gap beat Rappahannock, 55-33, in the Class 1 state quarterfinals. 

Senior Candace Slaw, who has helped lead Rappahannock to a 20-4 record and two titles this season, was named the region’s player of the year and….
