James Cook, the 2023 Youth of the Year for the Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Neck, recently competed at the Youth of the Year regional conference in Washington, D.C.
Cook, a senior at Lancaster High School and BGCNN member since 2020, competed against 19 other youth of the year finalists from across Virginia. He was supported by three BGCNN friends, Jamaul Ball, Alexis Franklin, Tamia McLaughin, who made the trip alongside him for their own exposure and experience.
They cheered Cook on as he made a three-minute speech about how the club has impacted his life….
