The Northern Neck Sail and Power Squadron (NNSPS) will offer a piloting class starting Thursday, June 29.
The 8-week course focuses on learning the essentials of safe coastal and inland navigation using basic GPS in conjunction with charts and other marine data, reported public relations coordinator Keith Kidd.
Topics will include:
• Charts and their interpretation.
• Navigation aids and how they point to safe water.
• Plotting courses and determining direction and distance.
