White Stone council to purchase new bulbs for holiday decorations

WHITE STONE—The White Stone Town Council started the new year with a short, relatively non-eventful first meeting on Thursday, January 4. 

Aside from approving its monthly financials, there was only one action item. Council voted unanimously to allot up to $1,000 for the purchase of some 750 new bulbs for its existing holiday decorations. Decorations, flags and banners committee chairman AnnGardner Eubank told council the company it usually purchases decorations from is offering a significant sale through January with no interest or payments on purchases until July, which would coincide with approval of next year’s budget. The money could be budgeted then, she said.
