Trinity Episcopal Church, 8488 Mary Ball Road, Lancaster, will Drive-Through Ashes from 4:30-5:30 p.m., on Ash Wednesday, February 14.
Ash Wednesday begins the traditional 40 days of Lent, culminating with the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus. The ashes, made from the burned palms of last year’s Palm Sunday service, remind folks that “We are dust and to dust we shall return.”
“The words remind us that we will not live forever and life is short,” said the Rev. Megan Limburg, rector. “How are we called to live our lives? How can we help others?”
All ages are welcome to receive the ashes.
