Northumberland County Treasurer’s Office plans for the new tax due date

HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland County Board of Supervisors on March 14 approved a proposal to move the tax due date from December 5 to November 5.

This change will benefit the taxpayers by moving the due date farther away from the holidays, said Treasurer Pamela A. King. It will benefit the county by bringing in the revenue sooner and it will make the year-end state set-off debt collection process less rushed and more efficient for the Treasurer’s Office.
