The Tavern Spinners & Weavers Guild recently announced Sunday hours for the summer at Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern (RHHT), 73 Monument Place, Heathsville.
Those with an interest in fiber arts such as spinning and weaving are invited to the guild’s monthly meetings. Upcoming meetings are at 2 p.m. Sundays, June 9, July 14 and August 18 in the Tavern Meeting Building at RHHT.
“Our meetings usually begin with a ‘show and tell’ of handwoven and handspun items, which our guild members have created over the course of the previous months,” said president Jan Lodge. “This is always a time of great inspiration and encouragement.”
A short business meeting to discuss upcoming events follows.
The Tavern Spinners & Weavers Guild has about 30 members with all levels of experience, from those who have been spinning and weaving for 40-plus years, to beginners.
