Sheriff’s Report 06-13-24

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against six individuals.

Felonies

Joseph Glenn Green, 31, of Lancaster was charged June 3 with cruelty and injuries to a child, and appearing in public in an intoxicated condition (misdemeanor).

Marsha Elizabeth Sitnik, 75, of Lancaster was charged June 5 with intentionally destroying property valued at $1,000 or more.

Misdemeanors

A Weems man, 34, was charged June 6 with 13 counts of stealing merchandise valued at less than $1,000.

A Lancaster man, 33, was charged June 7 with failing to appear in court for a review hearing.

A Lancaster man, 56, was charged June 8 with three counts of stealing property valued at less than $1,000.

A Lancaster woman, 33, was charged June 8 with failing to appear in court for a review hearing.

Activity report

June 3: Staff responded to the 200 block of Wishing Well Lane for a verbal disagreement, to Windmill Point Road for a traffic complaint, to Mary Ball and Kamps Mill roads for a disabled vehicle, to Mary Ball and Old Salem roads for debris in the highway, to the 3000 block of Lara Road for an adult welfare check, and to the 20 block of Morattico Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash.

June 4: Staff responded to the 1400 block of Avis Trail for a neighbor dispute, to the 800 block of Weems Road for a verbal dispute, to the 800 block of Weems Road for a verbal disagreement, and to the 100 block of Old Town Lane for a civil complaint.

June 5: Staff responded to the 1300 block of Crab Point Road for suspicious activity, to the 100 block of Morattico Road for a landlord/tenant dispute, to the intersection of Mary Ball and Goodluck roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of Landsend East for gunshots in the late evening hours, and to the 100 block of Meadowlark Lane for harassment.

June 6: Staff responded to the 2000 block of Weems Road for a child welfare check, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for threats made to harm another, to the 100 block of Doggett Lane for theft of mail, to Irvington and Weems roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 3000 block of White Chapel Road for a verbal disagreement.

June 7: Staff responded to the 1700 block of Morattico Road for a suicidal person, to the 600 block of McSwain Road for an adult welfare check, to the 9000 block of Mary Ball Road for gunshots, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a disabled vehicle causing a traffic hazard, to the 400 block of Riverside Drive for an ungovernable juvenile, to the 2300 block of River Road for an adult welfare check, to the 3100 block of Lara Road for vandalism, to the 1300 block of Oak Hill Road for a noise violation from loud music, to Mary Ball and Courthouse roads for a reckless driver, to the 400 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with a domestic disturbance, and to Mary Ball and Harris roads for a reckless driver.

June 8: Staff responded to the 3100 block of Lara Road for a domestic dispute, to the 4100 block of River Road for a landlord/tenant dispute, to a walk-in report of destruction of property that occurred in the 1100 block of Oak Hill Road, to the 1200 block of Cherry Point Drive for trespassers, to the 200 block of Cottage Cove Way for a possible burglary, to the 3900 block of White Chapel Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash with serious injuries, and to the 300 block of Harpers Creek Drive for an assault.

June 9: Staff responded to the 400 block of Twin Branch Road for destruction of property, to the 2900 block of Lara Road for an adult welfare check, to the 400 block of Pleasant Cove Farm for an adult welfare check, and to the 100 block of Kathy Drive for a person with an altered mental status.

Staff also conducted nine traffic stops, issued six summonses, assisted two motorists, recorded three deer strike accidents, handled four requests for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged four inmate transports, received 12 E911 hang up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a dumpster fire in the 800 block of Middlegate.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a vehicle fire in the 5700 block and to a vehicle crash in the 3900 block of White Chapel Road.

White Stone VFD responded to a propane/gas leak in the 5600 block of Irvington Road.
