Northumberland board reviews summer activity

The Northumberland County School Board met briefly Monday, June 10, and reviewed summer activity at the schools.

Superintendent Holly Wargo reported a floor replacement project at the elementary school is underway in addition to an LED light conversion initiative.

Wargo also noted painting projects in the hallways of the elementary school are complete as well.

Summer school is underway at the elementary school with an enrollment of 112 students, she said. Classes are focused on math, reading and writing.

The elementary school administrative staff is wrapping up its work for the development of a master schedule, to be completed in July.

Middle school principal Shelli Lipton said there are some 75 students enrolled in the first session of summer….
