Northern Neck Electric Cooperative’s (NNEC) second annual Bright Futures Fun(d) Run raised over $5,000 due to a matching donation from Oasis Digital Properties, providing children in the area with over 4,000 books.
To date, NNEC and its members have funded over 12,000 books through Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which offers free books to children from birth to age five in the region’s participating communities.
The event was held June 7 at NNEC in Warsaw.
More than 100 individuals, ranging from avid runners to families, participated in the various “color” runs offered at the event while raising more than $2,500 for the non-profit.
