CORNVILLE, AZ—James “Jimmy” Edwards, 85, passed away on July 30, 2023, in Cornville, Arizona, where he was cared for by his daughter, Sheri, son-in-law, Jon, and son, Jimmy.

Born in Richmond and raised in Fleeton, Jim dedicated 21 years of service to the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a master sergeant in 1976 and moved his family to Arizona. His military career was marked by a steadfast commitment to his country, embodying the core values of integrity first, service before self and excellence in all endeavors.

Following his distinguished military service, Jim transitioned to a career as an engineer. His mechanical prowess was not just a professional attribute but a personal passion as well, often reflected in his meticulous work and innovative solutions.

An active and vibrant soul, Jim was known for his kindness, love of nature and animals and his patriotic spirit. He was also an avid competition shooter, a hobby that showcased his precision and discipline, traits that were hallmarks of both his military and professional life.

Jim is survived by his son, Jimmy; daughters, Kym, Sheri and Cyndi; and brother, Kendall Edwards.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and James Edwards Sr.; and his brother, Michael Edwards.

His wishes to be buried in the family cemetery in Reedville will be honored on the anniversary of his death.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. July 30 at Roseland Cemetery in Reedville.

Currie Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements. Jim’s life was a testament to his strong values, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
