VDOT proposes new turning lanes for Route 360 in Callao and Lottsburg

CALLAO—The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a design public hearing from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, August 1, at the Callao Volunteer Fire Department, 314 Northumberland Highway, Callao. The purpose of the hearing is to update residents and hear comments on proposed lane striping changes to Northumberland Highway in Callao and Lottsburg.

As proposed, the new traffic patterns would remove one travel lane in each direction and create a center two-way left turn lane. In Callao, the left turn lane would begin at Northumberland Highway/Richmond Road and Hampton Hall Road and extend to the start of the four-lane divided highway to Richmond Road.
